Bad, Bad, Bad

So I have been terrible lately, ignoring this blog! It's not because we are boring and I haven't taken cute pictures or anything like that....it's just that, well, I've been Facebooking. Yes, it's true. But it is so EASY to keep up with folks on FB. I know, I'm lazy - I shoudl be out there making REAL connections, and not just computer connections. Sigh.

Forgive me?

Please?

If you do, I'll let you in on some of my latest obsessions....other than Facebook.

Yes? Great!

  • Have you seen www.thepioneerwoman.com? Ree Drummond is AWESOME in a single word. When you have three hours, read her book online - From High Heels to Tractor Wheels. And then look at her confessions. And then look at her cooking. Oh, her cooking makes me swoon.
  • Roasted pecans. Love them. Can't get enough.
  • Hair straightening. My hair is about as long as it has EVER been. And I am obsessed with using the straight iron to get it even longer. Yeah, I actually need to get it cut - I have no hair "style." But still. I love it when it is long!
  • Tootsie Rolls. The little, teeny midgee ones. I can eat one or four and not feel guilty. Mmmmm.
That's about it for now.....

Colin's 7th birthday

We had an "army" party at the Pirate Playground. This is one of the best parks in all of the Lowcountry. My boys love it. Anyhow, am I a terrible mommy for forgetting the candles? We had him pretend to blow out the soldiers on his cake (which he helped design!)
Speaking of cakes, the cake lady at the Harborview Piggly Wiggly is the BEST. If you need a cake, she can do it. She has done all of our birthday cakes for the last few years.

We didn't have too many kids - which was nice and manageable. And we planned nothing but playing and eating cake and opening presents. They all played and played and played!

forest house, part deux!

Mmmm. cooking marshmallows over the fire!

More from the forest house

Even more circus photos

Even Mike got into the act! He was teaching other people how to juggle!

Andrew shows real flair for the dramatic, doesn't he?

More circus pics

These strong men photos just crack me up!

Vist to Uncle David and Aunt Candy's house!

DISCOVERY PLACE 2009

We got to visit at Discovery Place on our "Spring Break" mini-trip. We could all find something to do that we liked.

The main exhibit was on CIRCUS things. Both of my children actually got up and walked on the high wire. I was AMAZED that neither of them seemed nervous. Of course, I would have done it, too, but I was wearing a skort!

Gossip Junkie

Okay - so we know that I am some sort of idiot-savant when it comes to celebrity things..... So no one should be surprised when I tell you that I've found another celebrity real estate website. (You can see my real-estalker site on the sidebar.)

If you want actual addresses of where celebrities live, and photos, visit http://www.celebrityaddressaerial.com/
Wow.

I have real estate envy of friends here in Charleston. I'd REALLY have real estate envy if I lived in California (or the Hamptons). I like big houses with lawns kept by a staff of gardeners just as much as the next person, but really, some of these places are just ENORMOUS. I'm just not sure even if I won the lottery that I'd buy a house that have 17,000 square feet. Just 7,000 square feet seems large.... (and did you see where a group of 10 just won $216 in the NJ lottery? Sorry, I digress.)

Having said all that, I would have more than one house if I won the lottery....... Or maybe I'd just rent a mountain house for two months, a beach house for two months, and live in my country house the rest of the time...... :-)

Basketball practice

The boys have signed up at Ft. Johnson Baptist Church in the Upward basketball program. They are having a BLAST!!! They will scrimmage a girls team later on this week in practice, and their first game is on Saturday. More photos of them in their basketball uniforms soon!

MISSING TOOTH!

Colin FINALLY lost another tooth! He's been telling us for two months that his front teeth were VERY wiggly. Yeah, maybe not so much until recently. But he just wanted to lose that tooth.....

Bowling - Too Funny

We went ten pin bowling at the bowling alley. I loved this - it was so much easier than regular bowling. Not to mention it wasnt' nearly as crowded, so it was much quieter. The boys had fun, too!

This is Andrew doing his best "WHOOO HOOOO!" impression.

Colin (below) is just too goofy most of the time. :-)

Even more from our trip!

Ah, 08 is over

This is ME on a snow tube!

Colin managed to go down the hill by himself, too!

Here are just a few photos and vids from our vacation with good friends, Rick and Shannon (aka Shanaynay). We had the most wonderful trip with them! The boys saw mountains and snow for the first time! They also got to play with "girl things" since R&S have two girls. On the way home, Mike said, "I'm relaxed!" Each of the boys cried when we got home and put them to bed - they missed our friends and most of all, their dog, Tigger. Real tears, too. Not just "I want to stay up later" fake tears. I have one thing to say to Rick and Shannon -- MOVE BACK TO SC!!!
